TRAVEL BACK IN TIME

Enjoy a ride on the heritage train with Goldfields Railway between Waihi and Waikino at the eastern end of the spectacular Karangahake Gorge.

Experience a section of the old East Coast Main Trunk Line which stretched from Auckland to Taneatua, south of Te Puke.
Enjoy the rich history, including historic gold mining which shaped much of this part of the Southern Coromandel.

Have a break at Waikino Station with coffee and great home-made food.
Then take time to visit the gorge and its historic sites, then return to Waihi on a later train.

NZ'S ULTIMATE FARM EXPERIENCE

Bullswool Farm Park is one of New Zealand's most popular rural education venues.

The Farm sits at the top of a valley, between two mountain ranges, overlooking the vast Hauraki Plains.

We offer a wide range of activities and that embrace both our heritage and natural world.
The farm park has plenty to delight and engage children of all ages. It offers practical experiences, and simple, hands-on rural fun.
The farm's agricultural buildings do double duty as museums, and visitors can enter our sheep and milking sheds, gaining insight into New Zealand's rich rural colonial history.
Our NZ Native Bird Reserve is an award-winning conservation project, established with the objective of educating people about New Zealand native trees, birds and aquatic life. Visitors can explore the Reserve, and see our replica miner's camp, to learn the story of the Karangahake Gorge's earliest gold miners.
